Les Chardonnerets is a gite converted from a stone built barn adjacent to La Maison du Blé.  Although completely renovated it retains much of its rustic charm, with exposed stone walls and original beams.  It is located 4 kilometres from Les Alouettes in a neighbouring village.

The property accommodates 9 adults / children plus up to two infants in comfort.  As with our other properties, care has been taken to ensure that the sleeping and living areas are clearly delineated, and that the occupancy has not been stretched. This means no bunk beds or sofa beds, and proper cots (not travel cots) are provided.

 The Heated Swimming Pool

The swimming pool measures 12m by 6m plus a 8m square paddling area (30cm or one foot deep) for younger children. The pool is heated (for comfort) and fenced (for security). The pool uses a saline sterilisation system rather than a more conventional "chlorine" system - this is said to be kinder to skin and eyes.  A play area with Wendy house, slide, swings and sand pit is situated outside the pool fence, and there is plenty of space for impromptu football games.  There is also a large trampoline (with safety net).  The pool and play facilities at Les Chardonnerets are shared with the neighbouring property La Maison du Blé. Les Chardonnerets is entered from the private parking area via French doors.  On entering, you find yourself in a large kitchen / dining room (about 20 feet by 27). The dining tables seat up to 20 in comfort. Booster seats and high chairs are provided. There is a sofa for relaxing while dinner cooks and a child sized table and chairs for colouring, etc.

The kitchen is fitted and fully equipped with dishwasher, cooker, large fridge / freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. A welcome pack is provided with brioche, coffee, milk, wine, , etc. Children's tableware is provided as are unbreakable glasses for use by the pool and Tupperware for picnics.  A full range of utensils and pans is provided including large pans for large groups. Some cupboards have safety catches to keep small fingers out.
		Outside a large covered veranda provides you with plenty of space to eat al fresco, a gas barbeque, an additional fridge and a sitting area.
Through an open archway from the kitchen is the living area sitting with sofas and easy chairs for nine people, a collection of books and games, and a CD player for your choice of music. Also in the living area is a TV video player and a DVD player with a selection of children's and adult videos. The property is equipped with a satellite receiver for BBC (including the all important Ceebeebies and CBBC channels!), ITV and other English language services. We have a range of DVDs that can be borrowed without charge. Space is set aside for children’s toys.  This is an ideal place for you to relax once children have gone to bed

Up the oak staircase (with stair gates) you will find the five bedrooms. There are two double rooms (both with ensuite facilities) and two twin rooms.  A further single room with its own vanity unit makes an ideal room for a single adult or older child and can be equipped with a cot to provide a quiet nursery.  There is also a family bathroom, with a full sized bath and an especially low sink just for the children (with a higher one for the parents).

The decoration and furnishings in Les Chardonnerets have been carefully chosen to provide a well appointed accommodation, but one in which you will be able to relax whilst your children enjoy their holiday.

High chairs, linen, towels (bath and beach) are provided, as is mid-stay linen change for parties staying longer than one week. All utilities are included. Pre-prepared meals can be provided, and babysitting services can be arranged.
